Private Roof Terrace Harlow a straight-forward project for the Surface 360 team – who doesn’t love them!
This residential home had their roof terrace resurfaced with Levato Mono Arbortek 04, 20mm porcelain paving tiles. The first-fix involved installing Sound Suppressant Pads and our Self-Levelling Pedestal System over the existing bitumen waterproofing substrate. As the project did not require a tall raise, the SL1 Pedestals were chosen for the majority of the terrace space, with taller Pedestal Supports only being used within the drainage gully which ran along the front edge.
The Arbortek paving tiles were then installed onto each Pedestal and supported by perimeter Tension Springs, making sure the paving tiles were locked into place. The customer opted for the large format, 600mm x 600mm paving tile size. These were installed in an alternate pattern with a 90-degree rotation to the neighbouring tile.
The dark, varying shades and grained surface of each porcelain tile comes from its hyper-realistic timber-effect finish, which replicates the natural irregularities of real wood. Having both the style of natural wood and the attributes of porcelain provides this terrace with an extremely durable, easy-to-clean and maintenance free floor, with excellent slip resistance (R11 ABC Classification).
